Orwell Bay Scenic Look Off
Located adjacent to our parking
lot the newly created Orwell Bay Scenic Look off will provide you with the
visually stirring landscape of the soft, rolling hills, and gentle pastoral
agricultural vistas gently meeting the ocean that our Gentle Island is so
famous for. Relax as you view various seabirds and other aquatic life, plus the
visual treats associated with the blues, reds and greens that comprise the
natural palette of colors unique to
School Programming
Orwell offers school programming
especially tailored for grades 1 to 6. The programming includes guided tours of
all the buildings in the Village, a scheduled lunch break followed by hands on
activities that include a visit with the Blacksmith, candle and ice cream
making and a horse and wagon ride (weather permitting). Students day will begin
at 10am and should conclude by 1:45pm. Cost is $4 per student, tax included,
with teachers and other adult leaders complimentary. Teachers can call 651-8515
to book a tour.
Anna's
Tea Room
Open daily in season - our tea room serves a simple menu of traditional food,
well prepared and reasonably priced. We also offer a picnic lunch, packed to
travel in a wicker basket to be enjoyed on site at one of our many picnic
tables. (subject to refundable deposit).

Our tea room menu includes tea
(Red Rose) coffee (Mother parkers) lemonade, sandwiches, home made cinnamon
rolls, Anna's famous buttermilk scones, cookies, ice cream and strawberries.
The strawberry jam is produced using berries grown in our own chemical free
garden.
Children's Programming
We aim to make visiting Orwell
Corner fun for your children. During July and August we feature daily
children's programming aimed at ages 6-14. Under staff supervision regularly
scheduled activities include ice cream making, candle making, farm chores,
treasure hunt for knowledge, gardening, rope making and a visit with the
blacksmith. Check with admissions clerk on arrival for schedule.
A ceilidh (pronounced Kaylee) is a gathering or house
party, and a great introduction to storytelling, singing, fiddling and

July 17 - August 14 - Sundays at the Corner
On selected Sundays we turn our focus to creating an
atmosphere fun, discovery and learning for the entire family. Activities will
include wagon rides, blacksmithing, ice cream making, children’s games, tea
room service and tours of the Village. In addition to these activities each
Sunday will feature a special theme that will add an extra dimension to the
day. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash. Regular admission prices apply. For more specific information call 651-8515.
Children 8 to 14 can come and spend the day at Orwell
Corner from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm participating in a variety of hands-on
activities: play some traditional games, tour the site, visit the blacksmith
shop and produce a memento of their visit. Advance booking is recommended as
space is limited. The $25/child/day fee includes material costs (lunch

in
11am -4pm. Join several
PEI artisans as they demonstrate their particular area of expertise whether
that be spinning and weaving, traditional food preservation and others who will
include artisan Brenda Whiteway who will be conducting hands on workshops on
the more practical aspects of gardening that will include the processing and
weaving of flax plus a walk around our grounds to find and identify plants that
were used to create many colorful dyes. As an added bonus Brenda will also
conduct a workshop on spinning wool. Brenda's workshops will begin at 10am and
continue through out the day.
Dec 11 - Orwell
Christmas Concert
Sunday afternoon at
1:30pm. Close your eyes, smell the fresh decorations, the
kerosene lamp, hear the excited voices of the children, see the teacher
nervously hover about, and you will have no trouble imaging yourself stepping
back in time to a Christmas concert in the one room school of your youth. Held
in the Orwell Hall, this traditional concert is presented by the children from
the
